It's safe to say many of us enjoy witnessing a stunning home transformation. Instagram is brimming with gorgeous "after" photos that spark ideas to try in our own homes.
But we often start comparing our homes to the perfectly curated projects we see online, which can make starting a home makeover feel incredibly daunting.
That's why we love before and after photos. If you're thinking of starting your own remodel, progress photos can be encouraging and relatable. We've rounded up 10 of our favorite window transformations to give you an extra confidence boost before starting your next home renovation.
1. A Bare Bones Remodel
Old homes always have such unique features and some surprises. This full gut reno had an interesting surprise behind the walls of this century home. Built in 1921, this Connecticut bungalow didn't have a half bath originally. During deconstruction for some plumbing work, @oreandbosk discovered the remnants of an old gas stove. The current bathroom apparently used to be part of the original kitchen.
Finishing out the reno with new fixtures, this bathroom renovation still honors it's coastal, New England roots with crisp shiplap, vintage inspired hexagon tiles and Bali 2" Faux Wood Blinds in white to mimic the look of classic wood shutters.

2. A Tiny Home Transformation
Myth: RVs are outdated, dark, cramped places. @toshinteriors shows us how to make a kitchen feel bright and airy, even if it's a tiny home on wheels! Over the window they installed stylish, woven wood shades to replace the dingy old window treatments. It opens up the window, allowing light to flood into the space. To make the space feel more open, they removed one set of the bulky, overhead cabinets and replaced them with modern and sleek shelves in wood tones that match the new floor. This lets more light in from the window behind the counter.
Wallpaper directly behind a sink is a recipe for disaster. So they ripped out the boring, dated wallpaper and replaced it with modern, white subway tiles that acts as a backsplash and reflects so much light back into the space. Painting the rest of the wall a warm ivory amplifies the light in the space. All these bright surfaces allows them to go dark and dramatic on the cabinets with a satin finish.

3. Colonial Kitchen Gets Updated
This New York kitchen feels a bit boring but @southshorecolonial saw it's potential. She leaves no surface or fixture untouched in this stunning makeover. Painting the dark wood cabinets white takes it from "meh" to modern farmhouse but the transformation doesn't stop there.
New tiled floors, new counters and a new stone backsplash amp up the style. Painting the center island a shade of cornflower blue brings a cheer dose of color to the crisp, white space. Top it off with the trendy Blinds.com Premium Roman Shades in Linen-Stripe Vanilla Stone over the bare window for a rustic but still cozy final touch.
4. Sunroom Serenity
We love a good sunroom transformation. After putting down new floors, @krissysqualls built a custom "booth" styled seating area. Adding the Blinds.com Woven Wood Shades in Natural Weave Bleached turns this sunny space into a glowy oasis. It's the perfect spot for family brunches, game nights or even curling up with a good book.

5. Kitchens Are For Dancing
"So much love in this kitchen - so much learning in this kitchen - already a lil dancin’ in this kitchen ... I love this lil kitchen !!!" @emmacheyenne shows us how a few changes can transform a space. New wood flooring plus a new, lighter counter color make good use of reflecting the light pouring into the space.
She swapped out the cabinet pulls, faucet and over the sink light for fresh, shiny, modern fixtures. Blinds.com Cordless Woven Wood Shades in Montego Bark stylishly dress the window with modern farmhouse vibes. We're also fans of bringing an easy to clean, low-pile rug into the kitchen for a bit of subtle color!
6. Home Office Magic
The popularity of home offices has really taken off this year. @elkins.co divided the awkward addition on the back of her home to create space for a future bathroom and this lovely home office. Deep navy hues have been trending all year and we love how she uses it on the cabinets and wallpaper.
On the windows, she installed the Blinds.com Roman Shades in Navarro Cornerstone to help cut down on the heat from all that Florida sun and make it a more pleasant space to work in.
7. Sleeping On A Cloud
@mossaaroninteriorsri designed this serene getaway that not only honors her New England home's character, but amplifies it! The plush bedding, fluffy rug runners and peaceful sky blue walls make it feel like you're sleeping on a cloud.
Painting the trim white makes the windows feel even bigger and reflects more light into the space. Topping it off with the Blinds.com Premium Roman Shades in Somerset Alabaster and choosing the Relaxed Fold fabric style adds even more softness.
8. Fresh and Functional
Sometimes remodeling a space means changing the room's function. @rmahtani transformed this oversized dining room into a spacious and cozy living room. Painting the walls white allows light from the bay window to brighten up the space.
Bay windows can be tricky to find window treatments for, but the Blinds.com Cordless Woven Wood Shades in Ashbury Camel work perfectly without obstructing too much light (or view). They also perfectly complement the midcentury furniture.

9. Arched Topped Windows Are Tops
It can be heartbreaking to cover up gorgeous arched windows like these. But the new shades @mstarrevdesign chose coordinate so well with other features in the space - they look meant to be! She chose the super popular Blinds.com Woven Wood Shades in Bonaire Flaxen. They help filter the harsh afternoon sun that really heats up the room but they do it without sacrificing style.
We also love all the ivory tones in this space- from the fresh new wall color and painted fireplace to the comfy linen seating. This is neutral done right!
10. From Washed Up To Wow
We're so happy @kelliebehtinteriors kept the charming green tiles in this bathroom transformation. This project began out of necessity: a water leak required pulling everything up, including the subfloor. She took this opportunity to really give this room some style and we think she totally rocked it. She picked up and refinished a vanity on her local online marketplace and topped it off with a gold framed mirror.
To complete the vintage aesthetic, she found this super cute lily print wallpaper that matches the green tiles. In the window, she installed Blinds.com Woven Wood Shades in Malay Oak with a cordless lift (which means no dangling cords to clutter up the window).
