Fabric blinds or cloth blinds are a combination of the light filtering properties of a shade with the light controlling slats of a blind. Fabric blinds have slats made from woven fabrics that can be tilted to better control the amount of light entering a room. The material used in cloth blinds is similar to shades, allowing for a soft light diffusion when the blinds are closed.

Fabric blinds are also built to be both easy to clean and operate. The woven fabric of the vanes makes them resistant to dust and moisture, helping the maintain a clean look. Additionally, the fabric slats are lightweight, making the cloth blinds easy to raise and lower.

• Routeless: Routeless blinds means the slats will not have visible holes for the cords to pass through. That means more light blockage and privacy. However, this is not an ideal upgrade for outside mount fabric blinds.
• Cloth Tapes: A range of different fabric styles are available to add a stylish flair to your fabric blinds. These cloth tapes can also be used to cover route holes for added privacy and light blockage.

Other Considerations

While fabric blinds are a great option for window coverings, they may not be the perfect option for everyone or for every room. A few things to consider:

• Fabric blinds may be moisture and dust resistant, but they are a bit more difficult than faux wood or wood blinds where the slats can just be wiped off.
• Cloth blinds diffuse light well, but unlike other blinds will only offer a moderate amount of privacy due to the fabric slats; silhouettes can be made out especially at night even when the fabric blinds are closed.
