Helpful Hints Before You Begin Installing Roller Shades:

Carefully unpack your shades and all mounting hardware.
Familiarize yourself with the contents of the box and ensure all installation hardware is included. You may have different bracket types if your roller shades come with a cassette valance, so always follow your specific product installation instructions.

If you measured for inside mount roller shades, follow these simple installation steps:

Make a pencil mark 1” toward the glass from the front top corner of the window casing.
Hold your bracket up to the mark and mark the screw location. Repeat this process on the other side for the second bracket.
Use a steel measuring tape or level tool to ensure the brackets are straight.
To make it easier to fasten your screws, create starter holes by tapping a screw with a hammer or using a drill bit.
Screw the brackets securely into place.
Mount the shade – round pin end first – then push in the spring-loaded idle end and release it over the center of the bracket so it snaps into place.
Test your new shades. Pull them slowly to ensure even movement across the shades, and test the stopping feature so that your shades can be adjusted exactly how you want them.

If you measured for outside mount roller shades, follow these simple installation steps:

Hold your shade in the desired location and use a steel measuring tape or level tool to ensure it is centered and level. Make a pencil mark at each end.
Mark the bracket positions by measuring 2 inches in from each of the pencil marks and ½” up from the top of the window.
Hold the brackets up to the marks and mark the screw locations.
To make it easier to fasten your screws, create starter holes by tapping a screw with a hammer or using a drill bit. Screw the brackets into place, and make sure the locking mechanism moves freely.
Place the front groove of the shade back bar in the bracket lip and rotate it up until it snaps into place.
If your shades came with a separate valance, mount the cassette valance by sliding it over the shade assembly and pushing in the tabs.
Test your new shades. Pull them slowly to ensure even movement across the shades, and test the stopping feature so that your shades can be adjusted exactly how you want them.
